In KDCPEMS the curriculum comes alive for children. And it's only through understanding the art, science and craft of teaching . The school refine the practice. Relying on habit or official pronouncements isn't enough. A greater focus on what evidence tells us about effective teaching and learning will enable teachers to help every child achieve the highest possible standard in all aspects of their education.
At KDCPEMS our aim is to draw upon the best elements of the Curriculum combined with the depth and range of subjects that are based on age appropriate learning goals. Good education not only has to develop character and a sense of value, but must also strike a balance between the scholastic and non-scholastic areas.
This primary curriculum builds curiosity and a passion for learning in children as per appropriate age group. It provides a platform for all the children to exhibit their hidden talents and caliber.
The school believes in the system of learning by doing. It is a stimulating and motivating way for students to learn. It strengthens their understanding of a concept by giving them practical, first-hand experience of the concept through various activities and projects.
It endeavors to equip children with the knowledge and skills that will serve them not only in their lives as children but later as adults; it is concerned to develop their capacity for creative expression and response; and it promotes their emotional and physical development.
In classes I to IV, the focus is on encouraging inquiry, exploration and on inculcating confidence in key learning skills – reading, writing, listening, speaking, information technology capability, problem-solving, observation and measurement. Children are encouraged to speak and perform at assemblies, concerts, and thus gain confidence in their ability to communicate to a wider audience.
We recognise that children at this level are active, curious, experimental, extra ordinary, imaginative, and talkative and, above all, disconcertingly frank. Each child is an individual with his or her own unique abilities, interests, aspirations and expectations.
